overall:: Michael's appearance? Where to begin? Well, to say that he was a clean cut, extraordinarily handsome man with nearly no flaws would be more than an over statement. On the other hand, however, to call him ugly, or even unattractive would be a bit more than an understatement. To say the least, you could put him somewhere in the middle, average to say the least.
The simple color of Michael's eyes is nothing to flaunt about. They're average brown color is just as normal as every other pair of brown eyes. However, it's the emotion that can be so easily read within them that captures people's glance, the ever constant sparkle of good humor never fades.
Mike's face is heart shaped and muscular, his cheekbones defined slightly. His pale pink lips are just like everyone else's, nothing special at all. They don't dry out too easily, even though he spends a lot of time outside in the ever changing weather. The rest of his face is just about as average as it can get. A rounded, natural looking nose, and naturally shaped eyebrows that don't take any grooming. His skin is smooth, not pale, but not tan either. Though his facial hair tends to vary depending on how he's feeling, most days he has a cleanly shaven face, or a barely noticeable stubble.
As far as his body type, he has a very muscular, athletic build. He is tall and tries to keep his body in good shape, however his laid back, lazy personality makes his motivation low, and his muscles vary. He's not 'thin', but has a healthy look. His shoulders are broad and chiseled abs. His mousy colored hair is usually spiked up in the front. He doesn't quite care about the way he looks, and couldn't care less about what other people think.
He's never been one to spend a whole lot of time in the morning getting ready. It is near impossible for him to get up in the morning and so gives himself the smallest possible amount of time to get ready. Most days he'll throw on whatever is at the top of his trunk along with a pair of semi-baggy jeans, in most cases the top is a slim fitting t-shirt with some sort of design on it. School days, however, he will still wear his matching faded looking leather belt and wrist band, but instead of his jeans and an old t-shirt, he'll throw on a pair of his normal black robes, a pair of comfortable and yet still a bit casual black pants and a plain t-shirt underneath. He's never been one for dressing up. No matter if he's 'dressed up' or wearing whatever he picked up off the floor, he can always be found wearing a pair of comfortable Doc Martins.
notes:: He's hott, which makes him even more amazingly awsome!

overall:: If Professor Michael Christopher Ashmore's personality had to be summed up into one single word, I wouldn't hesitate in stating that word would be 'sarcasm'. He's always got some sort of quick reply to anything you have to say, however his intentions are never to hurt anyone but to simply make them laugh. Other than that, however, this teacher is just your average guy. He's very comfortable with the way he is, and refuses to change for anything. He's been the way he is since he can remember and no matter how many people try to get him to change, he still refuses. You can always count on him acting like himself, whether that means cracking jokes at the most inappropriate times or showing his softer side with a baby creature in hand.
The outdoors is Mike's haven. He loves being outside where the strong scent of pine can reach his nose, the wind rustling through the trees and the faint calls of animals can reach his ears. Being outside has always been like a safe house for him. Though he loves being outside, he truly dislikes the extreme heat and would much rather be out in the cold than in the hot. His theory is that you can always put more clothes on, but you can only take off so many before you start getting yelled at. I guess it doesn't help he's a bit thick blooded, he's used to cold winters. He is also not one to be extremely active, yes he has an athletic, muscular build, but he tends to be a bit lazy. He does just enough to keep himself feeling good and have the muscle stick around without working out extensively. He tends to express working out a lot as feeling like he's been hit by a truck. He hates being sore.
Mike is most known for his outgoing, sarcastic, smooth talking, yet authority mocking attitude. He can seem to have a big head at times and have a bit of an ego, but when it comes right down to it, he knows what he can and can't do. He tends to hang around a bunch of different people, although he isn't too fond of the darker, depressed people, he likes to be able to make them laugh. He's easy to become friends with, and once you get into his heart, he would put his life on the line if he had to. The downfall of his character is that when he is around people he feels uncomfortable with, his already sarcastic attitude tends to kick up a notch and his mouth runs. This only happens when he's nervous however, and he is working on controlling it. There has been more than one occasion his nervous tendency has gotten him into trouble.
There have been a few times Mike has been attracted to a girl. A few little flings here and there, but there has only been one serious relationship in his life. It had lasted a good few years after he had left Hogwarts, but it ended with a rough jolt. Since then, he hasn't let his heart be consumed by one person completely, always hoping from one girl to another without letting himself become too connected. You could say he fears having his heart broken again, but some say he still hasn't quite gotten over the one he lost. Either way, no one knows. He refuses to talk about it.

overall:: Richard and Ariana were in their early twenties when they first met each other. Richard was an aspiring young firefighter, Ariana a beautiful and gifted young witch. Though Ariana was involved highly in the wizarding world, she made more friends with muggles than other witches and wizards. It was because of these nonmagical friends that she was set up on a blind date with none other than that charming young firefighter. You'd think the rest was history, now wouldn't you? Not in the slightest, I'm afraid. You see neither were willing to show up on this blind date and in the end, both ended up ditching and blowing the other off. The strange thing was, they ran into each other - literally - in a grocery store a bit over a week later. Unaware of the strange coincident, Richard left the store with Ariana's number as well as his groceries.
The rest, as they say, was history. The pair that met in a grocery store after blowing each other off on a blind date, happened to fall in love, getting married just under two years later. It was only a month before the wedding when their friends finally explained that they were supposed to be on the blind date together. Though both found the coincident odd, they laughed it off, thankful that they did run into each other that day in the grocery store. After about a year and a half of happy marriage, the couple was blessed with their eldest son, Joseph. They both made exceptionally good parents, and Ariana was honest and up front about being a witch from the beginning. Richard was shocked at first, but intrigued, he loved it even more. As the years went by, the couple was blessed to have four wonderful boys, only two of which ended up with the magical gene.
Growing up the youngest of the four boys, Michael had a lot to make up for. He was always getting picked on and he didn't seem as talented in anything as his other brothers were. Joe had been a great athlete, not taking after his mother, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a firefighter. The second oldest, Marcus did not get the magical gene either. Instead he was extraordinary with a paintbrush, becoming a quite successful artist. It was the younger two boys that had gotten the magical blood. Brian was good at sports, however not as good as his older brother, his talents lay in his studies. Taking after his mother, Brian became a gifted wizard and joined the ranks of Aurors. That left Michael with seemingly no talents whatsoever, and a good amount of picking to take because of it. He wasn't the strongest, the smartest, or the most creative. He was average growing up, though he'd always had a bit of a smart mouth.
Michael had shown signs of magic while he was younger, as well as a gift with animals, however no one ever thought such a talent with animals would help him in the long run, so it was no surprise to the rest of his family when he received a letter from Hogwarts during the summer of his eleventh year. Obviously, he attended the school for the entire seven years, enjoying his time there, but his mouth always seemed to get him in trouble. He spent most of his years playing pranks and goofing off in class rather than silently taking in the knowledge the teacher was offering him, much like his older brother had. He did some of that too though, or else he wouldn't have passed his classes and been accepted back at the school to teach. He spent much of his time outside of class locked up in detention and even played for the quidditch team for a couple years. He never fell in love with the sport like some of the other students and didn't continue to play during his later years. He always said he'd leave the sports to his older brothers, and that he never was too fond of them in general.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Michael spent about six months simply traveling the world and seeing what was out there to be seen. Unlike his brothers, he really had no clue what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, and took a temporary job working at Eeylops Owl Emporium after his trip around the world had ended. Though it wasn't the ideal job Michael had in mind, he had nothing to complain about. He loved being able to work with the many exotic animals held for sale in the shop, and it was while he was working there that he finally realized what he wanted to do. A group of students shopping for their return to Hogwarts had made their way into the Emporium and were looking around at the many animals for sale. Michael watched happily from the counter as looks of awe and fascination danced across their young faces. He had always loved kids, though not near as much as he loved the animals he was constantly surrounding himself with. It was then that he decided he wanted to teach about animals and a few days later he heard there was an opening at Hogwarts for a Care of Magical Creatures Teacher. Another coincident maybe?
There is but one more thing not yet mentioned in this wonderful professor's history. What about love? Yes, he'd gone out with a couple people, nothing to get too worked up over. There is but one girl that truly held his heart. He was twenty five when she came into the Emporium, and if you asked Michael to explain what happened, you'd be surprised how much emotion would light up his face, as if it happened yesterday. She was beautiful and you could say it was love at first sight. They ended up together for three years, the happiest couple anyone had ever seen. They were set to marry the following summer when they were struck by tragedy. A trip to Gringotts, a very mundane and safe trip you'd say, and it was. Jessica had gone to draw some money out for a trip the couple was going on. Having already retrieved her desired amount of money, she had reappeared in the lobby just in time to witness an attempted robbery take place. She quickly noticed a small boy that had lost track of his mother in the chaos, running over to help him, a single spell was cast and her lifeless body hit the stone floor.
The robbers were caught and sent to Azkaban, failing to retrieve any money from the bank whatsoever. No one else was hurt, but the toll the tragedy had on Michael was horrible. He spent the year sulking around the Emporium with no more desire to live. Who knows what might have happened to him if those kids hadn't pointed him in the right direction?
notes:: He got Maverick from Brian as a gift when he got the job at Hogwarts.

roleplay sample:: (can be recycled, and remember, quality before quantity)Darkness flooded the quarters Michael called home during the school year. He lay sprawled out on his back in a twisted mass of blanks and covers. His still vacant brown eyes stared off into the darkness. He was supposed to be sleeping. He had a class to teach in the morning, and yet, he just couldn't will himself to sleep. Maverick lay at the foot of the bed, his deep breaths making the only noise in the room as the over grown Husky slept. Why, you may ask, was Michael unable to sleep this night? Well I'll tell you right now the answer is simple.
Staring at the clock, it read 2:34 AM. It was the anniversary of Jessica's death. It was three years ago, and yet he still couldn't will himself away from the memory. If only he had been the one to go to the bank, she'd still be alive. The 'what if's continued to race through his mind as he stared. They were so happy together, they were in the middle of planning a wedding. How could anyone take that away from him? Had he done that much wrong in his life? He kept such memories locked away the rest of the year, locked up so tight in the back of his mind, you'd think it never happened. You'd think he was completely over what happened, because he acted so normal when he was teaching class, when he was around other people. He hadn't told anyone what had happened, no one.
Slowly, he finally blinked, the only movement showing that he was in fact alive, as much as he didn't want to be. A simple sigh, though filled with all the heartache and grief he'd held in the entire year escaped his lips. This was the only day of the year he let himself mourn the loss of his love, the breaking of his heart forever. Rolling over onto his back, he stared up at the black ceiling. The hours before class would slowly tick by and he'd have to bottle all that emotion back inside himself. Suddenly, the sadness and depression that seemed to radiate off him changed to anger and frustration. It had been three years. Three Years! And he still hadn't allowed himself to get over it. Rubbing at his face roughly, he glared back at the ceiling. He couldn't keep living his life alone. He had to let her go.
notes:: I'm amazing!
