Jon strolled out of the castle, his Charms book resting against his hip in an almost forgetting-it-was-there kind of way.. It was a surprisingly warm day for fall so the male wore no coat over his long Gryffindor robes. He reached up and loosened his tie. He hated the thing, but tolerated it for school.
Automatically it seemed, the seventeen year old headed for his favorite tree, situated near the center of the grounds. It was a tall oak and no one was really sure why it was there. After all, it was the only one, and was far enough away from the forest for it to be considered "random". But Jon loved it all the same. He sat at its base, casting his textbook away from him. He had no need for it. He was just there to relax.

plain black. You know those shirts that guys wear that are black, but then are made to look like a tuxedo on the front? That's what Lilyth was wearing. Only, in a girl-ish way with the 'tuxedo' being pink and white with a fat pink bow in the middle. On her feet were a pair of purple velvet flats that were actually fairly practical, dispite the fact that her feet had been exposed all day and had been cold all day. Lilyth's straight, newly dyed light yellow hair was left down as it almost always was. In her ears were a pair of bright purple earrings similar to hoops, only they were shaped like a tear-drop instead of a circle. That brings me to her face. Yes, Lilyth had once again gone and drawn big, thick eyeliner wings out of the corner of her right eye. Her bangs went over her left eye, so she'd left that side of her face alone. While many people didn't understand why she did that to her face, Lilyth figured that people could do whatever floated their goat. That's right, buoyant herd animals. I went there. Right after dinner in the Great Hall, Lilyth had headed back to the common room and was planning on getting some reading and studying done that night. But once she saw how nice it looked outside, that was the end of that plan. So with a stack of random books, everything from her Potions textbooks to some muggle Seventeen Magazine, she'd grabbed her black-with-white-paint-splatters hoodie and flung it over her arm, and off she ran down to the lawn. Once she got down there, Lilyth slowed to a walk and slowly traipsed around for a few minutes before she actually figured out where she was going. It was at that point that she spotted Jon sitting by his special little tree. Lilyth's first inclination was to dash up to him and give him one of her flying hugs. But that would be just too expectable to do, Lilyth had decided. So ever so slowly, she'd gone out of her way to get behind the tree that Jon was seated at the base of. Placing her hoodie and books at the base of the back of the tree, Lilyth had, as quietly as she could, swung her velvet flat clad feet up onto the tree and silently climbed it until she was able to look straight down on the head of her best friend. Much to her enjoyment, there were still an abounding amount of leaves in the tree, which Lilyth plucked and one at a time threw down onto her friend. Once she realized that Jon had probably figured out someone was in the tree, Lilyth hooked her legs around one of the lower branches. In one swift movement, the peite girl was hanging upside down. Shirt clamped close to her body by the aid of her hands, Lilyth smiled upside down at Jon. Trying her best not to choke on her own spit, Lilyth called down "Hello you!"[ [ >_> Sorry that it was so... weird/not Lilyth. I dunno what's going on with me today] ][/ul]

Ahh. Peace and quiet at last. Jon had missed peace and quiet. He missed Mel a bit, but he couldnt hang out with her exclusively. No. That would cause him to lose his identity, and we cant have that now can we? His gaze returned to his Charms book, figuring he might as well get some studying in. He opened the book but within seconds began to doze.
{{Dream Sequence.. chchyeah!}}
Jon raced through the forest, his heart racing, his eyes wide. He was running from something, but what. He slowed, his breath coming faster and faster. He looked over his shoulder, and thats when he saw it. The fire. It was nearly upon him. He took off at a sprint again, but he was no match for something more powerful than he. He darted a glance over his shoulder and in that moment, he tripped over an exposed tree root. He sprawled across the forest floor and could only stare as the fire crept closer, never showing mercy to the boy. Jon closed his eyes and braced himself. But it never came the fire hit but it felt like... feathers?
Jon jerked awake as the "fire" hit him. His breathing was still fast and a light sweat had broken out across his forehead. He swatted at it with one hand, but that was when he felt a leaf stuck there. He picked it out, not thinking anything of it. Then another leaf floated down onto his lap. And another. And another. What the hell? Jon said brushing off his now leaf-ridden lap.
As he glanced up into the tree, a familiar face swung down at him. Albeit upside down, Jon would have recognized that face anywhere. He grinned at Lilyth. Hey yourself. Only Lilyth could get away with pulling something like that on Jon, and it was a fact she knew all too well.
What's with the sudden fascination of turning me into a tree? He asked, his crooked grin creeping up on his face. He tossed his textbook over before reaching up to stick one of those leaves in Lilyth's hair. And are you going to hang upside down until dusk or are we going to have a normal conversation? He asked, c.ocking his head at her.

Lilyth tried her best to come up with something at least half-way smart to say back to Jon's question, but nothing was really coming to her "So I sent the leaves to keep you company?" Shaking her head to get rid of a piece of hair that had made it's way into her mouth Lilyth shrugged her shoulders as best as she could "I dunno." Lilyth laughed as Jon stuck one of her thrown down leaves into her hair that was quickly becoming tangled. Lilyth really did love her hair, and it's ability to keep hair color for a fairly long period of time. The only thing she disliked about it was the fact that it was constantly getting worked into a big rats' nest. Her hair had the kind of texture that just made it easy to get tangled. "Im actually okay for now. Thanks though." Of course, Lilyth actually did want to come down. But she'd wait a good five minutes or so now that Jon had pointed it out. Why? Because Lilyth never wanted to give people the satisfaction that she was actually taking their advice. Of course, it was obvious to pretty much everyone that she almost always took good advice from people. But it was just impossible for her to do something right when someone told her she should. Nah, Lilyth always gave it a good five minutes before she acted on advice. Licking her lips that were quickly getting that 'getting-chapped' feeling from the wind, Lilyth swung her body weight back and forth. Some of the knobs on the tree branch were starting to dig into Lilyth's legs and it was getting a bit annoying. "Sooo, what cha doing out here all alone?" Lilyth continued to swing back and forth, loving the feeling of the wind and her hair tickling her face.[/ul]

Jon looked up at Lilyth comically. There was no way the girl was comfortable hanging upside down in the tree. He grinned at her. Uh huh. I'm so sure you're all right. He considered just pulling her down, but he knew she probably wouldn't talk to him for a while after that. Lilith had always liked to o things on her own time schedule. Fine, you can stay up there, but just so you know, all the blood is rushing to your head and you look like you're blushing right now. He grinned. Which is an effect I'm used to having on women.
Oh yes. Jon can be quite the c.ocky boy when he want to. Which is 99.9% of the time. But his friends were used to him, so most of them didn't mind that fact. He looked up at Lilith again as the girl spoke.
Well, I WAS trying to relax, but then a certain someone came along and ruined THAT plan. Jon said with a pointed glance at Lilith. His brown eyes gave away the fact he was only joking, after all, Lilith was like his sister. And why are you hanging from a tree/ He asked, pretending to be concerned.
ooc- blech. sorry. it suckss.

Well, that wiped the little grin right off of Lilyth's face. Letting go of her shirt with one hand and still grabbing on with the other, Lilyth swung back and forth and tried to swipe at Jon's head with her free hand. Of course, she completely and utterly failed at this attempt. Losing her balance with her legs for a moment, Lilyth quickly returned her hand back to it's original position. A slight frown on her face, Lilyth realized that she'd have to come down from the tree if she wanted to actually get Jon back physically. So she settled for verbally instead. "Was that a crack at my intelligence, mister?"Oh, and of course there were the usually c.ocky comments that seemed to flow freely from Jon's mouth. Clenching her leg muscles so that she started to sway back and forth again, Lilyth rolled her eyes. "Oh, and you're not conceded at all, are you?" Yes, Lilyth had indeed mastered the art of sarcasm long ago. While she was generally happy and carefree, her sense of humor was almost completely made up of sarcasm. It something that Lilyth had learned from her older brother, mostly. Though his sense of sarcasm was usually biting and mean, Lilyth's was usually upbeat. Just like everything else about her. Sticking out her tounge at Jon for a moment, Lilyth decided to throw in another comment "Because maybe I am blushing. But if I was, it would have nothing to do with you."When Jon asked Lilyth why she was hanging from a tree, it took her a minute to answer him. Why, exactly, was she hanging from a tree? "Well.... why not? I like this tree." It was at this point though, that Lilyth was starting to get a head ache from all the blood that was apparently rushing to her head. "But now I'm getting a head ache, so imma come down." Lilyth stated bluntly before grasping the tree with her hands and flipping her legs underneath. Letting go of the tree, Lilyth fell a few feet and landed squarely on her feet. Throwing her arms up into an over head gymnastic's pose and bending her left knee, "Tah-dah!" Lilyth grinned and continued to hold her gymnasts pose. As quickly as she'd decided it was time to come down from the tree however, Lilyth realized that she couldn't see straight at this point. Apparently, when you've been upside for a period of time, you aren't supposed to sit straight up right away. Dropping her arms, Lilyth put her hands by her face "Whoa, I see stars Jon." Taking a step forward, Lilyth half tripped and half sat down. Though she still couldn't really see, she could feel in her back that she'd plunked herself down right by Jon's knee. [/ul]

Jon raised an eyebrow at Lilyth. This sitting around in a tree for no apparent reason was getting ridiculous. Ducking easily out of the way as she swiped at his head, he grinned as she spoke. Nope. I know you're perfectly smart. Perhaps too smart for her own good, but whatever. He chuckled as she commented on his conceited-ness. No. Not at all. He said with that same know it all grin. And you can say you aren't blushing because of me all you want, but I know better Well, someone thinks highly of themselves don't they?
Jon snorted with laughter as Lilyth mentioned "liking this tree". I like it too, Lil, but that doesn't mean I feel the need to go hang from it every chance I get. He pointed out. He laughed as she did her little gymnastics routine. Nice. You should really consider going out for the Olympic team
Jon automatically reached out to steady Lilyth as she swayed. He opted not to gibe a sarcastic comment as she mentioned seeing stars. But lets face it, it would have been something about him. Being a star. Yeah, Jonny does like to think a lot of himself. As she plopped down near his knee, he let her go. You alright? He asked, concerned.
-bleh. sorry, still getting back into it-

"Whatever you say, ego-maniac!" With her smile still intact on her face, Lilyth decided to give in to Jon. Sure, she had a determined spirit and all, when she wanted to. A lot of the time though, Lilyth didn't feel the need to be right or to prove that she was right just because she didn't want to be wrong. In a lot of ways, that was just how Lilyth operated. She didn't need to rip someone else down just to make herself feel better. Plus, half the time she just got bored discussing the same thing over and over. I mean, she knows Jon's got quite the little ego thing goin' on. Wether he admits it or not, well, that's up to him really. Lilyth usually just settles for knowing that she's right in her own mind and doesn't bother pushing it on other people.
While still placed upside down in the tree, Lilyth rolled her eyes as best one can when one's upside down and starting to get a headrush. "Well, maybe if you showed your affection towards trees more often, you'd be more humble!" Okay, okay, NOT the best argument on Lilyth's part. But really, what more do you expect from her? She pretty much just summed up her whole outlook on life. Sure, Lilyth has her own self-confidence and ego thing going on, but she just chooses not to flaunt it. That's just not her personality. She truly believes that if the people of the world just showed their true feelings toward things more often, the world would be a much better place. People would feel so much more free, because they could express themselves however they wanted. Yup, Lilyth had always been, and probably always will be, out to change the world. A one-woman petition against the laws of the world. Sounds like fun, doesn't she?
Head rushes were, needless to say, definitely not Lilyth's thing. Sure, she'd experienced enough of them in her lifetime. Hanging upside down, laying upside down off the sides of her bed, even hanging upside down from her broom in flying class every now and then. Those things, combined with her ever changing interests, yeah, it resulted in plenty of head rushes. They just really annoyed Lilyth. This was, of course, because it always altered her ability to move. Anything like that, anything that seemed to hinder Lilyth at all, she hated. This one however, only lasted a few moments. After all, she'd only been upside for a few minutes. Not like that one time she'd hung off the side of her bed for about a half an hour. No, that rush had lasted a good five minutes.
Lilyth laid her head on Jon's legs for a few moment, rubbing her temples, before she bothered to answer him. "Wow. Yeah, I think I'm good now. Thanks" Tilting her head back to look Jon in the eye, Lilyth tried to put on her best serious face. Yeah, right, Lilyth being serious. "I still say that you should climb trees more." With that, Lilyth jumped up and realized that she had never replied to Jon's little comment about going out for the Olympic gymnastics team. Once on her feet, Lilyth quickly did a cartwheel followed by a round off, trying to make them look as impressive as possible. This wasn't really an easy feat, since Lilyth was really no gymnast. She'd once tried to do a no-hands cartwheel, and nearly broken her neck. With hands thrown in the air in a typical gymnastics pose, Lilyth put on her best snooty tone. "Trust me, I tried. But they shot me down. Too much hair dye, they said. But I know that I would have just over-shadowed all my team mates!"
((Sorry for the rambling-ness, it's been months and I'm trying to figure out how to make long posts without the rambling xD ))
