It was probably an unwise decision, sitting on the main stairs. But did Ash really care? Not really. It wasn't like she was in the middle or anything. No, the sixth year Gryffindor was sitting about half way up the giant staircase, her back against the railing. Her messenger bag lay on the step below her, but she hadn't bothered getting anything out of it.
No, she was bored out of her mind, but it didn't mean she was going to do her homework. She wore a simple pair of jeans, black converse, and a white t-shirt with some random design running across it in black. It was after dinner, on a Friday night. How could she be bored - and alone - on a Friday night? Who knows, but the fact still remains.
Giving a bit of a sigh, she leaned her head back on the cool railing and closed her eyes. She had the sudden urge to go find somebody, but then again, she was being a bit lazy too. Ah well. She was working on motivating herself to move when she felt the presence of another body beside her.
Opening her eyes, she glanced over to see...

Love made his way down the stairs. He had nothing to do, apparently the school doesn’t have many guys who dig other guys, so a date really doesn’t happening. Still Love dressed his best. His skinny jeans hugged him so tightly it was almost…magical really. He wore a sweatshirt that also clung tightly him and the hood was up, his snake bites were in, his eyeliner was one, and he wanted someone to show off to!
He was in luck, as he tore down a couple flights of the magical stairs he noticed a lonely looking girl sitting upon one of them, Ash. He sped up to read her, but he was only in socks and he quickly found himself falling down a few steps before stopping g right before crashing into his friend.

Ash jumped at the loud crashing noise just above her on the stairs. Flicking her eyes open she turned to find Love tumbling down the stairs toward her. Yep, the stairs definitely weren't the safest place to laze about. Tensing for the impact, she let out a deep sigh as the boy stopped just before crashing into her. "I'm not too sure, but I don't think falling down the stairs is going to impress very many guys, Love," she teased.
She still felt lazy, keeping her head rested on the railing behind her. "Haven't seen you around much. Where've you been?" she asked, arching an eyebrow at the fellow Gryffindor. They were pretty close friends, though you'd never guess it. Love was pretty feminine and Ash was anything but. They were so different from each other, it was a wonder they found anything in common, well, besides their obvious attraction to guys. Though Ash would never admit it to anyone, she found Love to be quite attractive, but she kept that dark secret bottled up inside. After all, it was impossible.

Love sat up and looked at Ash, “I’ve been around, where have you been?” he tilted his head like a lost puppy. She was a beautiful girl, even if Love didn’t lean that way. They were good friends, which was odd. I mean it always creates weird situations when the girl is manly and the guy is girly…not that Ash was manly, she was just more boyish than Love.
“ What are you doing sitting her one Friday night, don’t you got a hot guy to hold hands with or something?” He liked to mess with her about boys, if he didn’t he might be angry that he didn’t have a guy of his own. Not that he couldn’t survive without a boyfriend, he just hated being in his sixth year and not on person to call his own.

Ash simply shrugged, smiling lightly as the boy spoke. He always had a way of getting her to smile. "Same, I've been around. Too busy chasing boys to hang with your girl?" she asked in a playful tone. Love had to be one of Ash's best friends, even if he could be a bit boy crazy. There were so many times before Love actually let the fact that he was gay spread through the school when Ash got asked if the two were going out.
Again Ash could simply shrug. "You know me better than that. I'm always the friend, not the love interest," she smiled sadly. Most days she wouldn't care, preferring it that way, but here lately it had really started to bug her. She always found her stomach knotting up when she saw a couple walking holding hands, or kissing in the corridors. She quickly composed herself though, hiding her vulnerability, though Love seemed to be the only one around.
Ash wasn't one to let her emotions show that easily. She had trust issues, but not as bad as some people. "Don't you have someone better to spend your time with than me?" she asked, secretly hoping he didn't. She knew it was wrong to wish that, she'd be happy if Love could find a boy. He was her friend, how could she not be happy for him? Still, she was glad he was there to talk to her. She would have died of boredom if someone didn't show up shortly.

Love got a puppy dog look on his face, ” I’m never to busy for you! Don’t say things like that!” Ash was a good friend, true he wasn’t always around, as social as he was being off by himself is good too, but he wouldn’t ignore Any of his friends for the world. He listened to her next statement and immediate found himself a lovely pun. He got a goofy grin on his face as he spoke his next words.
“ Of course you’re my interest!” he laughed. He had thought it parents had to be on drugs when naming him Love, he though it was interesting but really? He did enjoy using it as a pun though. He laughed a little at his own strange joke, he couldn’t help it, he thought it was funny. ‘Don't you have someone better to spend your time with than me?’ the words hurt and Love slid down so he could hug Ash, “of course not! I mean even if this school had gay guys for me to love, no one would be better than you Ash!.”
Love loved people. Love loved his friends. He was a loyal friend even if sometimes he seemed distracted. Ash and him went way back, and he wouldn’t ditch her even if he had someone better to hang out with , which was impossible because Ash was spectacular.

Ash could help but smile at the puppy dog look on Love's face, his statement making her feel better too. "Well sorry if not all people can be as social and cheerful as you all the time," she teased, her voice taking on a playful ring to it this time. She knew that Love was always around when she needed him, and that was all she could ask for. He was a great friend, she only wished she could return the favor.
Laughter escaped the girl's vocal cords as she picked up on the boy's pun. "Well I know I'm yours but that doesn't get me very far," she teased, the laughter still evident in her voice. "You like boys just as much as I do!" how could anybody that spent anytime with Love not realize that he was gay? The boy was so flamboyant and feminine it was hard not to realize it. Still, being such close friends, Ash felt confident being able to pick on the things he said.
The Gryffindor welcomed the hug, wrapping her arms around him in return before releasing him and watching him sit back down. "I'm sure the school is filled with guys for you to love, you just haven't found them yet," she offered, a smile playing across her face. She couldn't help but smile at his comments. She just got into moods sometimes where all she thinks about is how horrible she was at everything. However, it seemed every time she got into one of these moods, Love was always right there to jerk her back out of them.

Love looked at her giving her smirk,” They’re all to busy chasing after you.” Love was a girl around girls, but hew could be a guy. He could be manly and angry, but he chose not to. He could choose to be a brooding gay man, with Lesbian parents and people who don’t get his own homosexuality he’s been through a lot. He’s met people with broken homes though, and instead of being angry he embraces the fact that he can also help cheer brooding kids up.
“I mean really.” He stated referring to his comment before, “lets take someone who could go for either of us. There is you, beautiful, fun, boobs, and me, loud, flamboyant, no boobs. I think you can see the clear option there.” He laughed. Love had liked guys his whole life, but he was still a guy and knew what liking a girl was like.

"Me?" She asked, looking around in a teasing manner. "I don't see anyone chasing me now, and I'll have you know, I'm not particularly running," she laughed. She could care less, but there were times that being single just came down on her, like she was hopeless and no one liked her. Not that she'd let anyone actually know that. There was just something about Love that made it hard to picture him as manly, and more of a guy. She knew a little bit about what Love had been through, but not much really. They didn't really talk about it. Ash grew up with a single mom that forced girlie things onto her. It wasn't that bad, but it still wasn't a perfect home. She knew there were other people out there that had it worse, but she didn't flaunt her story. She kept it to herself, not really caring about it. Hogwarts was were she had the most freedom, she wasn't going to bring her family story up in order to get attention. She didn't need other people's pity.
Arching an eyebrow, she listened to Love comparing the two of them. Rolling her eyes, she laughed. "So you're saying that I'll only ever get a date because of these?" she retorted, gesturing toward her chest. Oh yea, that made her feel a whole lot better.

Love leaned back laughing, a hand on his stomach. He was a sight but didn’t really care, he hadn’t meant it like that at all. Well, that might be a lie. He hadn’t met that was the only thing she had to offer, he had only meant that…well thinking back Love wasn’t entirely sure he knew what he meant. The boy had a tendency to speak before thinking, but instead of being meek about it, Love embraced it and reacted with laughter.
“I didn’t mean it like that Ash. It just gives you an advantage.” He laughed some more, “I mean your beautiful, Smart, cunning, brave, friendly, it just adds t it that you have boobs. I might be gay but Im still a guy.” He smiled.

Watching Love laugh only made Ash laugh harder. Not only was laughter contagious, but just the site of him was hilarious. Ash knew that wasn't exactly what Love was trying to get at, but that's how it came out, and it just gave her something to pick at. She wasn't feeling so lazy anymore, and Love just kept cheering her up. She arched an eyebrow. She didn't quite know what to say to reply to that. She felt a flush creeping over the tops of her cheeks and her laughter faded.
"Yea, that might work for straight guys," she teased, "but I know for a fact a gay guy would pick you over me," she pointed out. She wasn't trying to make a point out of anything, just saying. She sat up, lifting her head from the rail. She probably could have been doing something that night, but she wasn't. The fact remained, that she wasn't the most popular person on campus. It didn't bother her anymore, she had Love to keep her company. "Now what?" she asked, a smile flashing across her features. She didn't feel lazy anymore.

Love laughed, “ Well that’s because I have other assets.” he joked putting a hand over his mouth before his laughter turned to a sort of giggle. He wasn’t the sort of be dirty, but in certain cases he couldn’t resist. He watched Ashelin, she was serious, and such a man he almost loved her in the relationship way. Still not quite though she always was a companion.
“What now? Whatever we want now.” He exclaimed, not that he really understood what he was talking, still it seemed like a fun comment when he came up with it in his head, his slightly gay accent really showed through in his previous statements, something he tried to keep hidden. Its not that he wasn’t proud of being gay, he wore a rainbow belt everywhere (Like Chris from blue lake J ) though sometimes homosexuality made people uncomfortable, and while he couldn’t resist the belt he tried to sound more like a guy when around most people, though he let his gay side show around Ash.

Ash could only roll her eyes at Love's comment. She tried not to laugh, but as his turned to almost a giggle, she couldn't help herself. He was crazy, but he always knew how to cheer her up. Looking at him, she managed to stop laughing, but a rather large smile still remained on her features.
A small chuckle surpassed her lips as he answered her question, though it didn't really answer it. She tried not to think about what he said too much, knowing all too well that he probably didn't understand it himself. "Well, then what do you want to do?" she asked, leaning her head against the rail. She had gotten so used to hearing him talk with a gay accent, it sounded strange for her to hear him trying to hide it. She smiled at him, she was starting to get bored and rather restless.

Love smiled at her and could tell she seemed bored. He got a little annoyed at this, he was her friend and within minutes she seemed tohave no use in talking to him. He rolled his eyes and got over it. No sense to brooding about.
"What do you want to do?" he smiled,"I have no opinions." That was both a lie and the truth. He didnt care what they did, but he did have many opninions, about everything.

Ashelin’s hazel eyes seemed to sparkle as she smiled at Love. They were such opposites, it was a wonder they got a long at all, much less actually end up the best of friends. If, for some reason, it seemed as if Ash didn’t care if Love was around or not, that was wrong. She loved being around the flamboyant Gryffindor, even if she sometimes didn’t seem to. He always had a way of making her smile, and that was something she couldn’t imagine ever living without.
She simply shrugged her shoulders as he bounced her question back at her, only to roll her eyes at his next brief statement. For Love not to have any opinions was like saying the grass was pink, and that one time a few years ago doesn’t count. ”Right, you don’t have any opinions? And I’m supposed to believe that?” she teased, knowing full well what he really meant by the oddly worded phrase.
