[[ mmk I’m going to make this is after Mel finds Jon and Lilyth together ;] … ahm … yay for jumping to conclusions? ]]The bar was rather empty that night, but then again, the small place was barely ever packed. Hell, some of the students even considered it as a “secret” hangout; it was hidden on a quiet side street in Hogsmeade, albeit one that barely anyone traveled on in the first place. And Mel? Well, duh, Melrose knew where the place was. Yeah, Gavin had shown it to her years ago … but as if any of that mattered now … right?
“Damnit” Melrose sighed, resting her head on her arms which rested on the pool table she had been leaning over. She still sucked at pool; she could never sink the fucking eight ball; and Jon was screwing around with that neon-haired Hufflepuff bitch. God, and she had thought she’d felt something different with him, too. Melrose let out an exhausted breath before standing back up again, moving to the far corner of the table where her glass of beer sat.
Setting one end of the cue stick on the floor and resting it against her right side, Melrose picked up the glass, taking a large sip before setting it back down, grimacing slightly. Even when she was drunk, beer still tasted disgusting, but the girl swallowed it anyway—doing anything to keep that buzz going. Her blonde hair was straightened and hung just past her shoulders; she wore a light pink cami top, black bra straps showing—seeing that she didn’t really care. Light wash jeans hugged her hips, and brown stiletto boots clicked when she walked.
The fact that she was upset showed clearly on her face, and such … emotion—bad emotion, mind you—was so … foreign for Melrose. Something was obviously wrong; but only three people knew exactly what was. Her hazel eyes were still done-up slightly from the photo shoot she’d come from that morning, though by now the make-up had pretty much faded to normal. Brushing some of her golden hair from her face, Melrose set her cup back down on the corner of the pool table and then moved to reset the balls. Leaning over the table again—cue stick in hands—she broke, sighing before she straightened up again and moved to continue … well … playing pool miserably with herself.

Gavin had been sitting at a booth in the corner of a bar. The only place he ever inhabited during trips to hogsmeade. He heard the door lick open and shut, unusually but nothing to get excited about. He had zoned out until he heard the distinct sound of someone playing pool. Pool, his favorite game, besides poker, but that was irrelevant. He leaned over, the girls back was to him, at first he didn’t recognize her but quickly he realized who the blonde beauty was. Melrose.
He slid out of his seat, his black pants were tucked into boots and he wore a closed trench coat over a thin black undershirt. His hair was pulled back and his eyes were dark, emotion was drawn all over his face as he stood behind Mel, waiting for her to notice the presence of her ex.

Melrose stood up to move to the other side of the table, noticing Gavin only when she turned. She watched him for a second before raising an eyebrow inquisitively. “What, Gavin?” she asked. It was clear she wasn’t too drunk, considering she could speak, walk, and remember how she wasn’t talking to her ex. Her tone said it all.
She finished making her way to the other side of the table, leisurely making an easy shot.

Gavin laughed as she brushed passed him. Leaning on the table he smiled, ”Just interested. The sounds of pool rose me from my stupor.” Gavin tended to be drunk. He would drink until he honestly couldn’t do it anymore. He cocked his head to the side, raising his eyebrows.
“C’mon Mel. Don’t be so harsh to me!” he whined, sliding himself around the table until he stood next to her, fighting against everything inside him that wanted to put his hands around her. He was cocky and often misconducted himself, but he knew that Mel would be hard to charm.

Mel shook her head as Gavin spoke. “Good for you,” she murmered her reply; the lack of her usual spark in her tone almost giving her away … almost. Maybe … idk … -hands options to Chelsea then continues on-
She looked up as he whined, still leaning over the table slightly. “And why shouldn’t I be harsh to you?” she asked, standing up and taking a step closer to him, hazel eyes staring up at him defiantly. Sure, she had no real reason to be mad at Gavin, anymore. Jon had … had …
She rolled her eyes and stepped away again, lifting the cue stick to take another shot without saying a word.

Gavin turned around and hoisted himself up onto the table. It shook for only a moment under his wait, sharply throwing off the ball she had knocked. Something was wrong, what was wrong he could only venture a guess at. Though he took his best shot.
“What has Jonny boy done to you?” He expected a sharp tongued comment back. He expected to be wrong. He leaned his head close to hers, “You can tell me anything.” He whispered in a low, haunting voice.

Melrose sighed, annoyed, as Gavin messed up her shot. She was bad enough at pool without him jumping on tables and the like. She shook her head and aimed again, when Gavin asked what was wrong. Or, rather, what had Jon done. Needless to say the cue stick missed its target completely. “How did he? No. Wait. This was Gavin. He was guessing … right?” she silently reassured herself before looking up at him once more.
“Nothing; he did nothing,” she pointed out firmly, only wishing the statement were true.

Gavin smirked. He had hit the jackpot on his first try. He sighed, “Mel.” A disapproving father tone crept out of his words. He patted the table next to him, begging for her to sit. “ You can tell me anything.” Gavin was someone you could tell anything. At least, he wasn’t a gossip. Telling him a secret was only dangerous because he had the bad habit of using it against you when times got rough, or manipulating it to his advantage.

Melrose looked up again when Gavin spoke, setting the cue stick onto the felt table and perching on the edge of it beside him. She stared off across the room for a few seconds, just wanting to curl up in a corner. Of course, the thought did nothing but scare her; Melrose had always been independent. She’d never felt like “curling up in a corner” before.
Taking in a breath and brushing her fingertips over the polished wood of the pool table, Mel spoke. “I thought he was different, Gav.”

Gavin put his arm around, pulling her close. He leaned his head on hers, “Different from me?.” he asked with either great sincerity or great sarcasm. It would be hard if you didn’t know him to tell if he was truly sincere. While on one hand we was a spineless womanizer who had taken a liking to Melrose, he also…well…took a liking to Melrose. A spineless man could have a…temporary spine one in a while couldn’t he?
“What happened?” He asked, stroking her hair with one hand, gently and slowly. A man at the bar gave them a look, which Gavin spotted out of the corner of his eye, but then returned to his drink. Nothing was strange in this place.

Melrose leaned comfortably against the side of Gavin’s chest. The embrace was familiar, though she couldn’t help but notice—and push from her thoughts—the fact that being with Jon brought familiarity to a whole new level. Research cliché’s about past lives’ loves, etc. “Quite,” she sighed, clearly not afraid of voicing her opinions to Gavin’s face.
Melrose’s jaw tensed as Gavin asked about that day’s happenings once more. Half of her wanted to sink into a state of denial, crying and the sort of thing completely foreign to her personality, and the other half wanted to give Jon a piece of her mind … and maybe a slap across the face, but you get it. And Lilyth? God, don’t get her started. “What do you think?” she murmered, unclenching the fist she’d made subconsciously.

Gavin leaned his head back, slowly rolling it around to face Mel. He laughed and picked up a hand and raised his fingers to curl her blonde hair. “You can trust me Mel.” Her hair fell loose around his hand. He laughed, “I promise you will feel better if you tell me.”
((Sorry it is so short.))

Melrose shivered slightly as Gavin dropped her hair once more, a cold-chill making its way down her back. Either the alcohol was getting to her or she still had a thing for Gavin. Or maybe it was the true Melrose wanting to get back at Jon. Hm …
“It’s stupid,” Melrose admitted, looking up into Gavin’s eyes. Seriously, this was the first time she actually cared if a guy “cheated” on her. Well, this was really the only serious relationship she’d been in that she cared that much about, but … still. She sighed and looked down at her knees, though still leaning against the boy beside her. “I don’t know, I came back this morning and there he was, sleeping with that goddamn neon-haired bitch under a tree.” She bit her lip, turning her head to look at the wall on the side of her opposite Gavin.

Gavin tilted his head and laughed, “Neon-haired bitch? Now who could that be….” He trailed off as he finished the sentence. He looked at her, “ Look Mel.” His face looked serious, but his deep voice sounded happy, almost cheery. “ What does him peeking at another girl make you want to do?” he held her close against him, as if trying to persuade her to answer what he wanted to here.
Did he have no heart to try and trick her? Of course he did, though he appeared to have left it back at the school. He lifted her chin with the tips of his right hand, enough to look into his face, “ Revenge maybe?” His eyes lit mischievously.

Melrose shook her head softly, amused, when he repeated her words of Lilyth. She chuckled softly, comforted in the same old Gavin. She lifted her chin when he suggested revenge, lips parted just slightly in that teasing expression she’d long-ago mastered. “It’s nice to know you’ve yet to change, Gavin,” she admitted, smirking slightly and yet … making no move to kiss him, or anything of that sort. [[ ah … finally, no more OOC Melrose xD but, sorry for the shortness v.v ]]
