Chris lay sprawled out on the dry grass, her cloak twisted around her body awkwardly. Her arms were stretched out abover her head and her fingers mindlessly played in the multicolored leaved falling from the nearby trees. Yes, it was a bit chilly outside and the cold seeped through the ground into Chris' body, but she didn't mind. Her eyes were closed and she continued to bask in the bright sun, almost identically to a cat.
Her black messenger bag lay beside her and earphones were jabbed carelessly into her pierced ears. She yawned lazily and glanced over to the path a short distance away from her. No one else seemed to be out in the beautiful fall weather. Chris shrugged, it was her favorite time of year, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect. She smiled slightly to herself. She had no classes for the rest of the day and she had finished all her homework earlier that morning. Even better, there was nobody else around to bug her. It was just her and the calm wilderness that played across the lawns.
She crossed her arms behind her head and sighed. Yes, life was good. Chris allowed her mind to slowly drif off, away from the music being pumped into her ears, away from the quite lawn and far off into the clouds and away from reality. It seemed like she had been lost forever when she was pulled back by a noise. She pulled her earphones away from her ears and listened, too lazy to open her eyes. Finally she shrugged and placed the music players back into her ears. She was probably just imagining it.

Gavin walked out onto the lawn, his hair was tied back into a ruffled ponytail, as he did when he was bored. A few yards away he saw Chrissie (because that’s what he calls her) Laying down. He laughed to himself quietly, stopping when she pulled out her earphones. Damn that girls sense of hearing. After a few moments she put her headphones back in, and drifting off. Gavin was careful not to laugh as he got right next to her. Thinking of what to do.
After a few seconds of debate he stepped over her with one leg, then sat down on the girls waistel region, he figured this would snap her out of it, “Rise and Shine Chrissie.” he muttered in the lowest voice he could muster, sounding quite maniacal. He was a bit afraid of what would happen when she opened her eyes, knowing her well, still he had known this girl forever, she wouldn’t….kill him. He hoped.

Chris' eyes darted open. She jumped as she found Gavin sitting on top of her. "Damn, Gee. Don't sneek up on my like that." She said slipping smoothly from underneath him. "I almost kicked your ass." She laughed, switching off her musicplayer and stuffing it into her bag. She sat up, bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them.
"I haven't seen you in forever. Where've you been?" She asked, though she pretty much knew the answer. Flirting. She rolled her eyes at the thought and waited for his answer anyways.

Gavin grinned after she slid out from underneath him, ” Did you miss little old me?” He said in a feminine voice, ” Well that’s honestly to bad. I was ‘ busy’ “ Air quotes surrounded the word. Ha laughed, leaning back, ” But I’ve been around, maybe it was you who was off doing something else and simply missed me?” He rambled on with an inquisitive tone. Then he laughed again.
“Oh wait, that cant be it. After all the world does revolve around me.” He tilted his head sideways and gave a cute smirk. Ah the innocence of a self obsessed man. He picked pieces of grass out of the ground, first one at a time, then began to grab larger chunks.

Chris rolled her eyes yet again. "I never said I missed seeing your self-obsessed smile. I simply asked where the hell you've been. It was quite nice not having to deal with your immature inquisitions." She smiled nastily. Gee was the only one she joked with in this manner. The truth was quite the opposite than what she acted. She loved Gavin, in that annoying older brother kind of way. "You know I'm only a year behind you, you don't have to talk to me like I'm a damn first year." She said.
She laughed at Gavin's rambling thoughts. "You should learn to keep those strange strings of meaningless words to yourself." She looked at Gavin sideways. "Besides, you know I'm not one to go off looking for trouble." She said sarcastically.
Chris sat and watched as Gavin almost viciously tore at the fading October grass. How could someone possibly be so in love with themselves, have the confidance to flirt with anything close to being part of the feminine gender? Chris shrugged to herself and settled on a simple answer to her own question. He was insane. "You know, one day something amazing is going to happen to me and you will have nothing to do with it. Maybe at that moment the fact that the world revolves around the sun will finally sink into that thick skull of yours." She laughed, stretching her legs out and leaning back on her elbows.

Gavin laughed as she spoke. That obnoxious laugh. He trusted Chris, truly trusted her. Honestly, if their was something he cared about more than himself, and sex, it was her. As she spoke he looked up, giving a cocky grin he raised a blade of grass to his lips.
“When will you learn my dear Christina.” he kissed the grass and dropped it, letting a gust of wind take it away, he leaned close to her, ” I am the sun.” he whispered, laughing after he spoke, like a child. A perverted child with a massive ego and hidden intentions.

Chris chuckled slightly at his comment. She rolled her eyes. "Really? I never realized that all this time our scientists and observers and teachers, pretty much everyone, was wrong about the universe." She said. She leaned back on her elbows with a look is if the world was suddenly revealed to her. "And to think, in reality it all revolves around you, it always has." She said.
Again she rolled her eyes at his laughter. He was so weird, but she had to admit. She wouldn't have him any other way. "God, you're so full of yourself." She laughed, throughing a handful of grass at him. She laughed even harder when some got caught in his hair. She knew how much he was in love with his hair and she waited for his reaction.

Gavin chuckled at her comments, “ No love. They know that the world revolves around me. Its just…which is easier to believe? “ He paused, holding his hands up like a balance, ” The world revolving around this giant ball of burning passion.” He paused again, ” scientists like to call it gas.” He again paused, creating a moment, ah the art of being overdramatic was a talent that came to Gavin. “ Or would they believe it revolved around a single, Lowe some man…of course I only refer to myself as this because most people haven’t met me, once you have met me you know I am simply amazing.”
He laughed until she through grass in his hair, then he gasped. He joked about his ego, which although quite large, he didn’t actually believe the universe revolved around hi, though his hair was a different matter, he loved his hair very much, more than music , drugs, or sex. Even combining the three. This seems overdramatic, until you realize that Gavin his is as shallow as a shower, and shall forever be that way.

Chris rolled her eyes, Gavin was beginning to get on her nerves with his obnoxious ego. "Maybe the sun theory is easier to believe because it's true." Chris stated cockily. Gavin's dramatic pauses were something else. If he wasn't going to be a musician, Chris could see him becoming a storyteller or something along those lines. She envied his way with words.
"Oh yes of course." She agreed sarcastically, her voice dripping with sweet venom. "You're simply too amazing for the world to understand." She continued. She knew he didn't honestly believe the world revolved around him. But it was still fun to joke about the point.
Gavin had a very large ego, even though the world didn't revolve around him. She smiled mischieviously as he gasped. She realized how much he adored his hair, and she had to admit the grass getting caught in it wasn't entirely on purpose. It was still fun, however to watch as he freaked out about the minor incedent. "Aw, did poor Gavy get something stuck in his hair?" She asked sarcastically as if she was talking to a two year old.
((You know, only Laney could find a song like that. Leave it to Laney to find the most obnoxiously perverted song.))

Gavin laughed at her, ” Yes! I do have something in my hair.” He whined like a child. Getting a pout look on his face he uprooted a rather large amount of grass before throwing at Chris, ” Two can play at that game.” He snickered as he pulled strands of green from his dark locks.
If he didn’t know Chris so well he actually might have had a seizure over the hair thing, or at least a freak-out, but Chris had been there through everything. When He had gotten way in over his head in drugs, she had stayed by his side, whether it was hi begging or her kindheartedness, he would never know. His problem with the drugs never subsided, but she helped him through he toughest part, his only regret, telling her he was clean.
It was his fourth year, her third, the worst time of his life. He found himself way over his head with drugs, even bringing them to school which was something he had never attempted before. She brought the phrase ‘tough love’ to his attention, and after a year, he had managed to convince her he was clean. Chris wasn’t dumb, but Gavin was a talented wizard. He wasn’t clean, he wasn’t as bad as before, but he couldn’t take being clean for more than a week or so. Maybe a month. He always hated that he had lied to her, but it was the one thing he was ashamed of.

"Hey!" Chris yelped, holding her hands up to try and block some of the mass amount of grass that had been pelted at her. She laughed, pulling some grass out herself and returning the favor. Though, her handful wasn't quite as large as Gavin's.
Chris knew she probably wouldn't have gotten away with getting grass in Gavin's hair if she wasn't so close to him. But that was alright, they were in fact very close and Chris had been through it all with Gavin. Her mind thought back to her third year when she had helped him through his drug addiction. It was nerve racking and frustrating to watch him suffer like that, but she knew if she didn't stick by him no one would. Hell, if she would have left him, the older Slytherin would probably be dead.
The year seemed to drag on and on as Gavin continued to suffer from his addiction and Chris tried to help. After what seemed like ages he finally convinced her he was clean. She didn't believe him at first and continued to be skeptical as time went by. But after a while, Chris believed Gavin. He didn't act the way he did when he was on drugs and Gavin's word should have been enough for her. She trusted him.
Chris' smile faded as she looked at Gavin, laying herself back down in the grass and looking up at the clouds. "So what kind of trouble have you been plotting lately? And do you need a partner?" She asked.

Gavy Sighed,” Sadly little trouble has befallen me. I have remained an angel. ” He made dramatic motions with his body as he lay next to Chris. He watched the clouds, picking out rabbits and whales. He laughed before pointing at one cloud, turning his head to Chris he muttered,” That one looks like breasts” he expected to be slapped. Still he grinned, trying to seem adorable, though he fully knew Chrissy didn’t fall for his ‘I’m cute and sexy’ thing.

Chris raised her eyebrows. Somehow, she didn't really believe him when it came to him being an angel. Ah well, she knew Skale always had room in his pranks for her. She rolled her eyes at his dramatic motions as he lay in the grass. She followed his eyes as gazed up at the clouds. The sky was a beautiful dark blue and the clouds stuck out almost as if in a painting.
As she took in a few of the larger clouds, she made out a skull, a pirate ship, and a horse. She wasn't sure what Gavin saw, but she did know that everyone saw something different. She felt his eyes on her, and turned to look at him. She rolled her eyes at his comment, elbowing him in the gut. She should have known he was going to see something like that. She simply laughed at his innocent expression, no, it had been a long time since that had worked on her.

He lost his air a bit when she hit his side,” I’m being honest.” He said catching his breath,” I could have aid worse but I decided not to. He held his side tightly. Not that she hit him unusually hard, but he was kind of a drama queen.
“What do you see?” He asked, still staring at the sky. It was so blue out, and the air reeked off dying leaves. He thought the feeling of fall so elegant and yet a pain in the ass.

Chris rolled her eyes. Yes, he was being honest: that's all the boy thought about. Again, she realized that he could have said much, much worse. She was glad he didn't, she'd have to hurt him even more. She glanced at him as he clutched his side. He was such a drama king.
Chris' attention was pulled back to the infinite sky above them as Gavin questioned her. Her icy blue eyes flicked across the sky, looking for something that really stood out. She shrugged, pointed up at one of the clouds. "That one looks like a heart." She said simply. No, not the cutesy little shape, but the organ. A human heart to be more specific.
